Putnamville, IN – May 25, 2013 – Saturday night’s special event for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series at the Lincoln Park Speedway was rained out in progress.
Three of the four heat races for the sprints were completed and the fourth and final heat was on the track when the rains returned.
The modifieds lined up in the chute were brought onto the track to help preserve the racing surface. But the amount of rain increased and the announcement was made that the event was rained out.
Officials at MSCS and at the track will be exploring the possibility of finding another date that an MSCS race could be held at Putnamville.
The series already has an August 10th date at the speedway. An announcement will be made if another date can be agreed upon.
Thirty-four sprint cars were in the pits Saturday night. Due to the abbreviated program MSCS licensed drivers in attendance received their show up points only! No other points could be awarded.
