PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. — April 11, 2016 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana on Wednesday, June 8 for the first time since 1988. The series is in the midst of wrapping up their West Coast Swing, before heading back to the Midwest.
In the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series most recent pair of races in California on April 1-2, current series point leader Brad Sweet and seven-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz, split a pair of wins. Sweet was victorious at Ocean Speedway on April 1, taking the lead from Logan Schuchart with 14 laps remaining in the 35-lap contest. Schuchart finished second to match his career-best run, while his Shark Racing teammate Jacob Allen, scored a career-best finish in third.

Schatz charged from the 14th starting spot on Saturday, April 2 at Silver Dollar Speedway to win the Mini Gold Cup for the second straight year, after race leader D.J. Netto ran out of fuel on a late restart. The win for Schatz and his Tony Stewart Racing team was their series-leading fifth of the season. Daryn Pittman, who hails from Owasso, Okla., finished second for Kasey Kahne Racing with Shane Stewart, of Bixby, Okla., crossing the line third for the Larson Marks Racing team.

Sweet, who has four wins on the season, continues to lead the series standings by 79 markers over Stewart. Pittman is currently third in the standings, one point ahead of Schatz. Joey Saldana rounds out the current top-five, with 14 races in the books thus far in 2016. Jason Johnson sits sixth in points, 10 markers ahead of David Gravel. Schuchart is currently eighth in the standings, followed by Jason Sides, with Paul McMahan rounding out the top-10.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues their California Swing this weekend with a pair of races at the half-mile Calistoga Speedway.

Each General Admission ticket purchased at an O’Reilly Auto Parts location will feature a special $5 discount. Tickets buyers will exchange their O’Reilly receipt for tickets at the Main Grandstand ticket booth on race day.
