This Week at Lincoln Park Speedway

5/11/2011
It's been a busy two weeks at the track. Guardrail at the front stretch is gone. It's been replaced with a ditch, a drainage tile from the entry of turn 4 all the way past turn one, that has been backfilled with stone, and a new wall constructed on top of that. We have also started laying drainage tile in the pits. A tile has been installed from the north end of the pits, along the pit side of the main drive, to an existing manhole at the pit gate. Tiles will be extended from this main tile and head into the pits back to Sprint Row. The dirt was removed from the track, spread over the infield and turned several times to allow it to dry. The dirt was then placed back onto the track. Then non-stop with the sheepsfoot roller.

Update 9/30/2010

Racing season may be over but the work at LPS hasn't stopped. Click here to see what has been happening at the track this week.

Update 5/11/2010

We have been working on the back stretch catch fence and getting ready to put up more sponsor signs. Thanks to all our sponsors for your support!

Update 4/2/2010

Our track crew has been working hard to get the track into shape. The tractor pulling the dual sheepsfoot rollers has already turned enough laps to be leading the points race! The grader isn't far behind. And another big LPS thanks goes out to Ray McCloud and his crew at McCloud Electric in Roachdale, IN  for their hard work and late nights.

We have been working hard to improve the main Concession Stand, Novelty Booth and Beer Shack.
New fences, a new Beer Garden and improved electrical service and lighting are all waiting for opening day!

The scales have also been disassembled, dug out, cleaned, reassembled, and an electronic indicator has replaced the old weigh beam. We will be able to weigh cars again!

We have also been working on the track itself. Lincoln Park Stone has been providing us with truckloads of clay that we have been working into the track.
